Probable Pitchers for Friday, August 7
Jeremy Sowers (CLE) @ Mark Buehrle (CWS)
Buehrle has been struggling since his perfect game and the Indians are batting .292 in their last 5 games. I’m a bit sceptical here.
Probable Pitchers for Thursday, August 6
Ervin Santana (LAA) @ John Danks (CWS)
Danks struggled against the Twins, Orioles and Yankees recently. These teams know how to swing a bat. So do the Angles!
Probable Pitchers for Wednesday, August 5
Kyle Lohse (STL) @ Jonathon Niese (NYM)
This would be the perfect opportunity for a pitcher against the Mets but Lohse has a few problems with righties.
Probable Pitchers for Tuesday, August 4
John Lackey (LAA) @ Jose Contreras (CWS)
Contreras has lost his last three starts and is now facing a team that’s been batting .365 in their last 5 games.
Probable Pitchers for Monday, August 3
Garrett Mock (WAS) @ Charlie Morton (PIT)
I was considering Morton for a moment because he is good at home and night games. He struggles against lefties though.
Probable Pitchers for Sunday, August 2
Jered Weaver (LAA) @ Glen Perkins (MIN)
Weaver’s last few outings make me wary of starting Weaver, especially as lefties are batting pretty well against him.
Probable Pitchers for Saturday, August 1
Josh Beckett (BOS) @ David Hernandez (BAL)
Hernandez pitched well at Boston and Yankee Stadium and that is quite impressive. I think he is too hittable though. At home batters are .295 against him.
Probable Pitchers for Friday, July 31
Rich Harden (CHC) @ Chris Volstad (FLA)
Two of Volstad’s last three starts weren’t impressive and the Cubs have been batting pretty well lately. In 5 of their last 7 games they were batting over .300.
Probable Pitchers for Thursday, July 30
Jorge De La Rosa (COL) @ Jonathan Niese (NYM)
De La Rosa may be one of the most successful pitchers since June but the Mets have been batting .310 in their last 10 games and are righty-heavy.
Probable Pitchers for Wednesday, July 29
Mike Hampton (HOU) @ Randy Wells (CHC)
Risky start for Wells as he is slightly better away from home and two of his last three starts weren’t that good, but there is a possibility for a win.
