Thanks for the input. I just added Ted Lilly, who I also like, so I really have too many SP right now.

That is a tough one on Pena......He'd be a good add, especially the way Tampa Bay is scoring. I don't know about Morales........I think Street will get the job back as soon as he returns. I think Francisco is most likely to close longer term

I have to pass up on Pena because I needed to drop Rodney in order to activate Cliff Lee.

I'm not sure what to do with Peavy. I have these starting pitchers and I really want to drop or trade one to add a reliever.

Felix, Gallardo, Verlander, Sanchez, Lackey, Liriano, Peavy, Jaime Garcia. The first three aren't going anywhere, and the way all three lefties are pitching, I don't want to drop them. That leaves me with Peavy or Lackey. I hate to just waive either of them, but I can't generate trade interest either. Of those pitchers, which would you drop if you had to drop one?

Lackey will probably give you more wins but Peavy will give you more Ks. If I had to choose I'd part with Peavy.
Try a multiple player trade, Peavy and a top batter vs a fringe player and a top pitcher. Maybe that way you get rid of him eventually. Either player has been dropped in some of my leagues and not picked up.

I need to decide whom to drop because I want to claim Carlos Pena. I have Howard and Butler but still. I need to find out the closing prospects for Morales, Francisco and Rodney. Morales may be out of the job soon but is the only one who is saving games right now. Rodney and Francisco might get the job back. Decisions decisions

Well, I rolled the dice on Verlander and it worked out okay, as he didn't allow any ER in 5.2 IP. He's still walking too many and throwing too many pitches, but he had the misfortune to be matched up against Liriano last night. Liriano is as good as anyone last night.

So what do you think about Peavy tonight? Should I roll the dice on him too at Texas? I've also got Jaime Garcia who I am thinking about starting tonight. I'm ahead in my pitching categories and I still have Felix, Gallardo, Sanchez and Liriano that will get starts this week.

Thanks as always for your opinion.....it's always good to have someone to bounce ideas off of.

sorry for the late reply.
As I once mentioned, Peavy is not that successful away from Petco. He's cold, overrated and faces a pretty good lineup in a hitter's park. I would be very very nervous if I had him in my lineup tonight!

Nice call on Sanchez. He wasn't great with 5 walks but that is typical for him.

What do you think about Verlander tonight? ESPN is recommending not starting him because he's been lousy in April and has a poor history against the Twins. I've also got Liriano who is pitching against him. I'm thinking of starting Liriano and Wade Davis tonight and benching Verlander. I'm already up 3-0 in Ws after yesterday, so I've got a bit of an early lead.

The stats are against Verlander against a red hot Twins team but I find it hard to bench him. Last year I made the mistake to even drop him. He turned things around in the final game of April. I would start him but the risk of getting another pounding is big. This could be his make or break game which tells us which way his season will go.

Hey what do you think about starting Sanchez tonight against Halladay? Tougher lineup than Sanchez has faced but he's been on a roll and piling up Ks

At this point I don't see any good reason why Sanchez shouldn't start. The Phillies have not been that hot of late and the game is in San Francisco which lowers the risk immensely.

Yeah, Street and Wood are both available along with Lidge.

I've used Chris Perez and Ryan Madson this year, but I don't have them on my roster now.

I typically go with 3 closers. If I can get Cordero, I may go wtih him, Marmol, Lidge and Bailey and just drop Qualls or try to trade him. That would be four, if Lidge is effective.

Thanks for the thoughts.

Another question: Would you trade Kendry Morales for Jayson Werth? I have 3 first basemen in Konerko Berkman and Morales........but I hate to give up Kendry.

I don't think there is much difference between Morales and Werth, though I like Werth a little better. The Phillies lineup is better and the ballpark is more hitter friendly. Trade seems fair.

I'd hold out to get those guys back. I've got Berkman and Aaron Hill on the DL, but I've been holding out to get them back.

Let me ask your opinion on a possible trade. I think I need to upgrade my closers. I have Bailey, Qualls and Marmol. Lidge is available and I was thinking about adding him too. Qualls has been terrible.

I have a possible trade to get Francisco Cordero. Would you give up Lackey or Buerhle to get Cordero? My other pitchers are Felix, Gallardo, Verlander, Peavy, Sanchez, so I feel like I'm pretty deep there with those five plus either Buerhle or Lackey....whichever I don't trade for Cordero.

What do you think?

If you get Lidge you have 4 closers which should be plenty for a H2H League. Did anyone drop Kerry Wood? I take it Fuentes is not available as he'll be activated tomorrow. It's also worth keeping an eye on Huston Street as the Rockies seem desperate for a closer.

You may need quality to acquire a closer. Sanchez or Buehrle may not be enough but worth a try.
Lackey and Peavy are the most dispensable, Lackey's best days are behind him and Peavy was never that good away from PETCO.
If you are desperate you may have to part with Gallardo whom I consider less good than Verlander.

I picked good pitching this year. Only guys who hurt me are Padilla and Big Z. I need Zambrano's Ks and I mainly sit Padilla in the weekly league. I'm lacking IP so I can't wait for Cliff Lee and Strasburg to be activated.
I'm not that lucky with hitters, Kinsler and Rollins on DL in one league! Been offered a trade, I get Teixeira and Nolasco for Kinsler and K-Rod but I hardly ever part with closers and need Kinslers 20/20 eventually.

Hello,

Okay.....that makes sense. I didn't know if it was something you did from opening day on.....

I'll look for it a little later on. I really like my rotation I have this year, and the other day I picked up Sanchez off waivers just before his Pirate start where he was dominant.

Hey.....where's the Pitch or Ditch for this year?

Hi TenRings, nice to have you back. I was planning on doing it again from May on. I want to see a few pitchers at least three times. I don't like guessing.
