There are 4 more weeks to go in the regular NFL and Fantasy
Football season. It’s literally become win or lose now. Here’s a guide to help
you setting your lineups for week 14. At the end of the article you’ll find a
few players who are inactive this week.
TE Todd Heap, Baltimore Ravens
Heap is suffering from a hamstring injury that will likely
keep him out of the lineup for Monday Night Football against the Houston
Texans. Ed Dickson would be the starter instead but it’s hard to recommend a
player who has 112 reception yards and no touchdown on the season. You’d be
better off with Rob Gronkowski (NE), Visanthe Shioancoe (MIN), John Carlson
(SEA) or Tony Moeaki (KC) if they’re still available.
TE Jermaine Gresham, Cincinnati Bengals
The tight end is listed as questionable due to the sad news
of his grandmother’s passing away. You need to check his status before kick-off
against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
QB Colt McCoy, Cleveland Browns
Colt McCoy remains listed as doubtful with an ankle injury.
Jake Delhomme will get another start on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.
Productive fantasy quarterbacks become scarce, so you may have to put up with
the likes of Alex Smith (SF) Drew Stanton (DET) or Jason Campbell (OAK) if you
need one.
QB Matt Cassel, Kansas City Chiefs
The quarterback’s availability for Sunday’s game at San
Diego Chargers is literally doubtful as he’s recovering from an emergency
appendectomy. Brodie Croyle would start instead.
WR Brandon Marshall, Miami Dolphins
Brandon Marshall is still suffering from a hamstring injury
and therefore questionable to play against the New York Jets. The wide receiver
missed the last two games with the same injury, so it’s best to check his
status again before the 4.15pm kick-off. Since the Dolphins play in the second
set of games on Sunday you may wish to have a replacement like Nate Burleson
(DET) on hand.
WR Percy Harvin, Minnesota Vikings
The wide receiver might miss another game because of
problems with migraine. It’s worth checking his status before kick-off against
the New York Giants but you should plan on setting your fantasy lineup without
him.
QB Brett Favre, Minnesota Vikings
Brett Favre is listed as questionable due to a shoulder
injury but is likely to start on Sunday. He remains a game-time decision, hence
you have to check his status prior to kick-off.
WR Steve Smith, New York Giants
The wideout’s return to action is nearing, as his status has
once again been downgraded to questionable this week. To be on the safe side
please check whether he’s going to be active before kick-off.
WR Hakeem Nicks, New York Giants
Hakeem Nicks missed the past two games with a leg injury and
is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game at the Minnesota Vikings. He will
be a game-time decision.
TE Antonio Gates, San Diego Chargers
The foot injury keeps bothering the tight end and, listed as
questionable, is by no means a certainty to go on Sunday in a must-win game
against the Kansas City Chiefs. He will be a game-time decision. It’s a good
idea to keep his backup Randy McMichael on your roster for another week.
WR Naanee Legedu, San Diego Chargers
Naanee Legedu’s status for Sunday is doubtful due to a
hamstring injury. Bearing in mind that the Chargers play in the second set of
games on Sunday you should be prepared to use a different wide receive this
week.
WR Mike Williams, Seattle Seahawks
The wide receiver hasn’t played since week 11 and will
probably miss the game on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers as well, due
to an ankle injury. He is a game-time decision but you may be taking too much
of a risk if you plan to use him this week.
WR Santana Moss, Washington Redskins
Santana Moss is expected to play on Sunday against the Tampa
Bay Buccaneers despite being listed as questionable with a knee injury.
RB Ryan Torain, Washington Redskins
The running back hasn’t been active since week 8 due to a
hamstring injury but is likely to play on Sunday. The fact that he hasn’t
played in 5 weeks makes him a risky option. It is also possible that Keiland
Williams remains the main running back for now. I suggest you look for
alternatives such as Anthony Dixon (SF), Ricky Williams (MIA) or Tashard Choice
(DAL) if you like to gamble.
And here are some players who are listed as Out, which means
you have to be prepared to set up your lineups without them:
QB Matthew Stafford (DET), QB Shaun Hill (DET), WR Brian
Hartline (MIA), TE Heath Miller (PIT).
