Fix Week 11
Week 11 puts an end to Bye Weeks for this season, which
means it’s going to be easier to set up your lineups. You still have to watch
out for a player’s status on game day but you have more options to choose from
now if you need to replace someone.
Here are some players who may or may not play on
Sunday/Monday and suggestions on how to replace them if necessary. At the end
of the article you’ll find a list of players who are ruled out for this week’s
games, i.e. you had better find a replacement.
RB Beanie Wells, Arizona Cardinals
Beanie Wells is still listed as Questionable due to a knee
injury. He will probably get to see some action on Sunday at Kansas City Chiefs
but a healthy Tim Hightower will get much more rushing opportunities. It’s
worth checking if Mike Goodson (CAR) is still on waiver wire.
RB Cedric Benson, Cincinnati Bengals
The running back’s status is Questionable due to a foot
injury but he is expected to play. You should check his availability prior to
the kick-off against the Buffalo Bills.
WR Donald Driver, Green Bay Packers
Donald Driver is listed as Questionable as he is still
suffering from a quad injury. He will likely play on Sunday at Minnesota
Vikings but you need to check his status before the game starts. If you want to
be on the safe side you could look for Malcom Floyd (SD), Seyi Ajirotutu (SD),
Patrick Crayton (SD), Danny Amendola (STL) or Derrick Mason (BAL) as short-term
replacements.
QB Matt Schaub, Houston Texans
Matt Schaub is suffering from a knee
injury and is listed as Questionable for Sunday’s game at the New York Jets. I
would be very surprised if he didn’t start but if you want to prepare for the
worst case scenario, also factoring in that the Texans are facing one the
league’s best defenses, Troy Smith (SF) or Colt McCoy (CLE) may be viable
options.
RB Joseph Addai, Indianapolis Colts
The running back’s status has changed from
Doubtful to Questionable compared to last week. His shoulder injury will likely
keep him out of Sunday’s clash with the New England Patriots. For this week you
might want to hold on to Donald Brown, his backup.
WR Reggie Wayne, Indianapolis Colts
Like Addai he is listed as Questionable with a foot injury
but all signs point to him playing on Sunday.
WR Mike Sims-Walker, Jacksonville Jaguars
An ankle injury will likely keep the wide receiver out of
the lineup against the Cleveland Browns, as he is listed as Doubtful. You may
want to check his status before the kick-off but don’t get your hopes up.
WR Dexter McCluster, Kansas City Chiefs
The rookie is listed as Questionable with an ankle injury.
Bearing in mind that he hasn’t played since week 7, I don’t consider him a
fantasy option for the game against the Arizona Cardinals.
WR Bernard Berrian, Minnesota Vikings
The wide receiver is still listed as Questionable due to a
groin injury. He had the same status in week 10 and decided not to play. He is
a more than risky fantasy option this week and his value might diminish
altogether with Sidney Rice’s return looming.
RB Fred Taylor, New England Patriots
Fred Taylor is listed as Questionable again for week 11’s
clash with the Indianapolis Colts. Even if he does play expect him to be rusty
and see limited action behind BenJarvus Green-Ellis, who has been doing a great
job during his absence.
RB Reggie Bush, New Orleans Saints
Bush’s status was upgraded from Out to Questionable but he
will be a game-time decision. His use as a fantasy player is very risky, though
I expect him to play against the Seattle Seahawks, ranked 14th in
rushing defense.
TE Zach Miller, Oakland Raiders
The tight end is suffering from a foot injury and, despite
being listed as Questionable, will likely play at Pittsburgh Steelers. You
should check his status before kick-off to be sure. If you need an insurance
policy try Rob Gronkowski (NE) or John Carlson (SEA).
WR Darrius Heyward-Bey, Oakland Raiders
The wide receiver is listed as Questionable due to a
hamstring injury. He will be a game time decision, so you should have a
replacement on your roster.
WR Legedu Naanee, San Diego Chargers
Naanee may miss Monday Night Football against the Denver
Broncos since he is listed as Doubtful. That makes him too much of a risk to
start this week.
TE Antonio Gates, San Diego Chargers
Another risky option to start is Antonio Gates as he is
still recovering from a foot injury. His status is Questionable. If you plan on
using him have at least Randy McMichael on your roster as plan B.
WR Sammie Stroughter, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The wide receiver is listed as Questionable with a foot
injury and will be a game time decision for the matchup with the San Francisco
49ers. Since he hasn’t played since week 8 you best had another starter at your
disposal.
RB Clinton Portis, Washington Redskins
Clinton Portis is listed as Questionable with a groin injury
but, with Ryan Torain out, his return becomes imminent. He will however share
ball-carrying duties with rookie Keiland Williams.
And here are some players who are listed as Out, which means
you have to be prepared to set up your lineups without them:
RB Jonathan Stewart (CAR), QB Jimmy Clausen (CAR), QB
Matthew Stafford (DET), TE Owen Daniels (HOU), TE Jeremy Shockey (NO), WR Steve
Smith (NYG), Jerricho Cotchery (NYJ) and Ryan Torain (WAS)
