We’re approaching the final quarter of the regular NFL season and for
some fantasy leagues this means that the playoffs are around the corner. Any
negligence can be crucial now. If you misjudge a player’s availability it could
cost you the season.
Below is a list of key players that may or may not play and
at the end of the article you’ll find a list of players who are ruled out:
QB Colt McCoy, Cleveland Browns
The quarterback is listed as Doubtful with an ankle injury
and will almost certainly miss the game at the Miami Dolphins. Jake Delhomme is
expected to start for the Browns. Other options include Derek Anderson (ARI) or
Chad Henne (MIA), maybe even Jason Campbell (OAK).
WR Reggie Wayne, Indianapolis Colts
Like last week Reggie Wayne is listed as Questionable with a
foot injury, however he is expected to play against the Dallas Cowboys.
RB Joseph Addai, Indianapolis Colts
The shoulder injury will likely keep Addai
out of another game as he’s once again listed as Doubtful. It looks like you
should keep his backup Donald Brown for the rest of the season. If he’s
unavailable try Ricky Williams (MIA) or Brian Westbrook (SF), although I don’t
expect the latter to get an awful lot of rushing opportunities.
WR Austin Collie, Indianapolis Colts
Collie suffers from a concussion and,
despite being listed as Questionable, will likely have to give Sunday’s game a
pass. Better check if Donald Driver (GB), Derrick Mason (BAL) or Derek Hagan
(NYG) are still on the waiver wire.
WR Brandon Marshall, Miami Dolphins
The wide receiver who missed last week’s game with a
hamstring injury is listed as Questionable but uncertain to play. Check his
status before kick-off at 1pm but it’s wise to have a replacement in store.
RB Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings
Peterson is listed as Questionable with an ankle injury and
will be a game-time decision against the Buffalo Bills. All signs point to him
playing but you should have a replacement just to be on the safe side. It would
be a hard hit for Peterson owners if he missed the game as the Buffalo Bills
have the worst run defense in the league.
WR Percy Harvin, Minnesota Vikings
The wide receiver is listed as Questionable for Sunday’s
game due to recurring problems with migraine. It hasn’t stopped him from
playing yet but you should check his status before kick-off. It should be
pointed out that Harvin averaged just 22 yards per game over the past 2 games.
RB Fred Taylor, New England Patriots
Taylor’s status literally remains Questionable. He missed
all but 3 games this season with a toe injury. Considering that the Pats play
the New York Jets on Monday night you should rather start a different running
back on your fantasy team.
WR Steve Smith, New York Giants
The wideout’s status has been downgraded to Doubtful this
week but that’s no reason for optimism just yet as he’s definitely going to
miss this week’s game against the Washington Redskins and most likely next
week’s game as well.
TE Zach Miller, Oakland Raiders
Zach Miller is still listed as Questionable with to a foot
injury but I expect him to play at the San Diego Chargers. He faces the best
defense in the league. This does not bode well especially since he’s only
caught 3 passes for 15 yards in his last 2 games. Tony Moeaki (KC) and Rob
Gronkowski (NE) are better options this week.
QB Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers
The quarterback suffers from a foot injury and is listed as
questionable for Sunday Night Football at the Baltimore Ravens. He is expected
to play but this is a game-time decision. Although I think he’ll play you
should have your backup ready if you don’t like taking risks.
TE Antonio Gates, San Diego Chargers
Antonio Gates is listed as Questionable with a foot injury
for Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders. Last Sunday he returned to
action for the first time since Week 8 and caught 4 passes for 46 yards. He
will be a game-time decision. The Raiders have a very good pass defense so
Gates may not be able to work wonders. I hope you kept Randy McMichael as a
safety net.
WR Malcom Floyd, San Diego Chargers
The wide receiver is listed as Questionable with a hamstring
injury but it looks like he will play on Sunday. He caught 1 touchdown pass
last week, which is very encouraging. Be prepared though and have a backup
available.
WR Mike Williams, Seattle Seahawks
Mike Williams is suffering from a foot injury but is likely
to play against the Carolina Panthers after sitting out last week’s game.
WR Kenny Britt, Tennessee Titans
The hamstring injury will almost certainly keep the talented
receiver out of the lineup for this game, however he could be active for week
14.
WR Santana Moss, Washington Redskins
Moss, who has been bothered by a knee injury, is listed as
Questionable for Sunday’s game at the New York Giants but will likely suit up.
RB Ryan Torain, Washington Redskins
The running back who suffers from a hamstring injury is
likely back in the lineup for Sunday. With him not being 100% fit and facing
one of the league’s elite defenses are not exactly a recipe for success.
And here are some players who are listed as Out, which means
you have to be prepared to set up your lineups without them:
QB Matthew Stafford (DET), QB Shaun Hill (DET), WR Mike
Sims-Walker (JAX), WR Hakeem Nicks (NYG), WR Jerricho Cotchery (NYJ)
