Probable Pitchers for Sunday, July 19
J.A. Happ (PHI) @ Andrew Miller (FLA)
Even though Miller has good stats at home (3-0, 3.25 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and opposing batters are .241 against him) this game looks suspicious. In 4 of their last 6 games the Phillies had more than 10 hits, while batting .291.
Erik Bedard (SEA) @ Aaron Laffey (CLE)
Edwin Jackson (DET) @ Joba Chamberlain (NYY)
Fernando Nieve (NYM) @ Javier Vazquez (ATL)
Jeremy Guthrie (BAL) @ Jose Contreras (CWS)
Matt Garza (TB) @ Luke Hochevar (KC)
Jon Lester (BOS) @ Roy Halladay (TOR)
Yovani Gallardo (MIL) @ Johnny Cueto (CIN)
Despite a brilliant season so far I don’t want to start Gallardo at Cincinnati because of his last two outings where he gave up 9 earned runs in 10 innings against the Dodgers and the Cardinals. The same goes for Cueto.
Kevin Hart (CHC) @ Garrett Mock (WAS)
Matt Cain (SF) @ Zach Duke (PIT)
Yusmeiro Petit (ARI) @ Joel Pineiro (STL)
Russ Ortiz (HOU) @ Hiroki Kuroda (LAD)
John Lackey (LAA) @ Brett Anderson (OAK)
If the Angles didn’t have the hottest bats of late I’d consider starting Anderson. In his last three starts he gave up just one earned run and hasn’t allowed a homer in his last 4 outings.
Jason Marquis (COL) @ Mat Latos (SD)
Francisco Liriano (MIN) @ Derek Holland (TEX)
