Reviewing the Miami - Toronto trade

About a month ago I started a poll, asking who would benefit the most from the trade between the Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat, which included the players Jermaine O’Neal, Shawn Marion and Jamario Moon. As you can see here http://fantasysports.ucoz.com/forum/20-1-1 everyone voted for Shawn Marion. Has he really been the most improved player after roughly 4 weeks?

Surprisingly, Shawn Marion has improved offensively but declined defensively. He averages more points and assists now, attempts and makes more field goals, even though his percentage went down, and he makes more free throws. On the other hand he averages fewer rebounds, blocks and steals.

All in all he has regressed a bit.

Jermaine O’Neal is averaging fewer points, rebounds and blocks with Miami, which comes as a surprise. The increase in assists is insignificant in comparison.

O’Neal continues to play below expectations, more so since the trade.

Jamario Moon actually has a very decent season so far and I have him as UTL player on one of my teams. His scoring and rebounding improved, whereas his steals and assists decreased.

He has pretty much the same value now as he had in Toronto.

Michael Beasley improved his scoring average and his percentages, field goal as well as free throw and only declined a little in rebounds.

He is the winner of the trade so to speak, but that is not enough to recommend him yet. Feel free to add him in a very deep league but he does not justify a start.

Marcus Banks was insignificant then and is insignificant now.
