Here are a few players that may not play in Week 10 and
possible options to replace them with:
RB Beanie Wells, Arizona Cardinals
Just like last week Beanie Wells is listed as Questionable
due to a knee injury. Considering that the running back had 1 carry for –2
yards in week 9, it is safe to say that Tim Hightower will be the main man
against the Seattle Seahawks. Depending on who’s available on the waiver wire,
Ricky Williams (MIA), Mike Goodson (CAR) and C.J. Spiller (BUF) might be your
best options.
RB DeAngelo Williams, Carolina Panthers
The running back who suffers from a foot injury is ruled out
for Sunday’s game at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Since Jonathan Stewart’s out as
well Mike Goodson will be the starter.
QB Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions
Stafford’s shoulder injury will keep him out of the lineup
for Sunday’s game at Buffalo Bills. The team considers his status week-by-week.
Shaun Hill will be under center this week. Other options, depending on waiver
wire availability, are Chad Pennington (MIA), Troy Smith (SF), Derek Anderson
(ARI), Colt McCoy (CLE) and, if you are very desperate, Jimmy Clausen (CAR).
TE Owen Daniels, Houston Texans
The Tight End will miss another game with
a hamstring injury as he is listed as Out for week 10’s game at Jacksonville
Jaguars. Joel Dreessen will likely be Houston’s starter. Other possible
pick-ups are John Carlson (SEA) or Rob Gronkowski (NE).
WR Andre Johnson, Houston Texans
Although officially listed as Questionable, due to an ankle
injury, Johnson is expected to play at Jacksonville Jaguars. You might want to
check his status on Sunday, but even less than 100% fit he should put up good
numbers against a team that gives up 267 passing yards per game. If you want to
be prepared for a possible miss, Mike Thomas (JAX), Deion Branch (NE), Devin
Hester (CHI) and Nate Burleson (DET) seem to be the most promising
alternatives.
RB Joseph Addai, Indianapolis Colts
Joseph Addai’s status remains Doubtful for
Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals because of a neck and shoulder
injury. It is highly unlikely that he will play. After last week’s good
performance, his replacement Donald Brown might be worth an acquisition, as the
Bengals surrender 120.8 rushing yards per game.
TE Jacob Tamme, Indianapolis Colts
The tight end was a great pick-up last week, when he caught
11 passes for 108 yards and 1 touchdown at Philadelphia Eagles. He is listed as
Questionable for Sunday because of a back injury, though he is still expected
to play..
WR Percy Harvin, Minnesota Vikings
Harvin is listed as Questionable, as he missed most of the
week with migraine issues, but is expected to play on Sunday at Chicago Bears.
I still recommend checking his status during the build-up to the game.
WR Bernard Berrian, Minnesota Vikings
The wide receiver is listed as Questionable due to a groin
injury but should be safe to go. It’s still worth checking his status before
kick-off.
RB Fred Taylor, New England Patriots
Fred Taylor is listed as Questionable and stands a good
chance to play in Sunday night’s game at Pittsburgh Steelers. Considering he
has been out since Week 4, the Pittsburgh Steelers have the best run defense in
the league and it’s a late kick-off, you might want to opt for another running back
on your roster.
WR Steve Smith, New York Giants
The wideout is officially listed as Out due to a strained
pectoral muscle and could possibly miss more games than just the clash with the
Dallas Cowboys. You are best advised to look for a temporary replacement.
WR Sammie Stroughter, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The wide receiver is still listed as Questionable with a
foot injury. Although he is a game-time decision he may not be a major factor,
seeing that he has only 25.3 yards per game and 0 touchdowns this season.
QB Vince Young, Tennessee Titans
Vince Young is listed as Questionable with an ankle injury.
He will be a game-time decision for the matchup with the Miami Dolphins. Kerry
Collins will start if Young misses this game. You definitely need to check on
his status on Sunday but you should have a replacement on hand to be on the
safe side.
QB Donovan McNabb, Washington Redskins
The veteran is officially listed as Questionable with
hamstring issues for Monday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles. I
expect him to play as this game is against his former team.
TE Chris Cooley, Washington Redskins
The tight end is officially listed as Questionable with a
foot injury but almost certain to play.
RB Clinton Portis, Washington Redskins
Despite being currently listed as Out with a groin injury
there’s a slim chance the running back will play Monday night. From a fantasy
point of view that still does not justify starting him. He hasn’t played since
Week 4 and his replacement Ryan Torain is healthier and has been more
effective.
