After a set of three games on Thanksgiving Day, Week 12 will
conclude with 13 games being played on Sunday and Monday. Here are a few
players that may or may not play and at the end of the article you will find a
few players listed who are inactive.
RB Beanie Wells, Arizona Cardinals
As usual the fantasy football fix starts with Beanie Wells
who is still listed as Questionable due to a knee injury. Last week he had 8
carries for 39 yards so it looks like he’s slowly been integrated back into the
team again. I still suspect a heavy timesharing with Tim Hightower. I have
Wells on my roster but won’t start him. I picked up Keiland Williams (WAS)
instead. If he’s no longer available, and you didn’t add Maurice Morris (DET)
before Thursday as I suggested, try Ricky Williams (MIA) or Jonathan Stewart
(CAR).
TE Benjamin Watson, Cleveland Browns
An ankle injury may keep the tight end out of the lineup
against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. He is currently listed as Questionable.
If you didn’t add Rob Gronkowski (NE) before Thursday, John Carlson (SEA) might
be your best option left.
RB Joseph Addai, Indianapolis Colts
Addai’s status for Sunday’s clash with the
San Diego Chargers is Doubtful. His shoulder injury will likely keep him out of
another game, as he hasn’t played since Week 6. It’s wise to keep his backup
Donald Brown for at least another week.
WR Reggie Wayne, Indianapolis Colts
The wideout is listed as Questionable with a foot injury but
will likely play on Sunday. He had the same status last week and caught 8
passes for 107 yards and 1 touchdown against the New England Patriots.
WR Mike Sims-Walker, Jacksonville Jaguars
Mike Sims-Walker is listed as Questionable and may miss the
game at the New York Giants. Since the Giants have one of the best defenses in
the league you might want to consider replacing him with Donald Driver (GB),
Derrick Mason (BAL), Deon Butler (SEA) or Derek Hagan (NYG) who could turn out
to be a sleeper in Week 12.
RB Maurice Jones-Drew, Jacksonville Jaguars
He’s listed as Questionable (abdomen) but is likely to play
on Sunday. Jones-Drew had 3 consecutive games in which he rushed for 100+ yards
and is one of the hottest running backs right now.
WR Dexter McCluster, Kansas City Chiefs
Dexter McCluster still hasn’t played since week 7 and is
listed as Questionable with an ankle injury for the game against the Seattle
Seahawks. While I expect him to suit up for the game I would still keep him out
of the fantasy lineup.
QB Chad Henne, Miami Dolphins
The quarterback suffers from a knee injury and is
Questionable for Sunday’s game at the Oakland Raiders. Although expected to
play he faces one of the league’s elite pass defenses, hence someone like Derek
Anderson (ARI) may be a better option for week 12.
WR Sidney Rice, Minnesota Vikings
Rice made his season debut against the Green Bay Packers
last week and caught 3 passes for 56 yards. He’s listed as Questionable with a
hip injury for Sunday’s game at the Washington Redskins, but I am assuming he
will play.
TE Zach Miller, Oakland Raiders
The tight end is still listed as Questionable due to a foot
injury. I expect him to play but he is facing a good pass defense, and less
than 100% fit he only caught 2 passes for 9 yards at Pittsburgh Steelers last
week. Consider him a risky start, even if he plays, and have a backup ready to
use.
TE Antonio Gates, San Diego Chargers
Antonio Gates missed the past two games with a foot injury
and remains Questionable to play. Since the Chargers play late on Sunday you
should be prepared to start his backup Randy McMichael instead.
RB Ryan Mathews, San Diego Chargers
The running back is listed as Doubtful with an ankle injury
and will likely miss the game at the Indianapolis Colts. That would give Mike
Tolbert another start. Tolbert rushed for 111 yards and 1 touchdown against the
Denver Broncos last week.
WR Malcom Floyd, San Diego Chargers
Malcom Floyd is listed as Questionable with a hamstring
injury. It’s unclear whether he’ll play so make sure you have other options
available on your roster.
WR Mike Williams, Seattle Seahawks
The wide receiver is suffering from a foot injury and may
miss Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He’s listed as Questionable
and it is wise to look for another player to fill your WR spot with.
QB Kerry Collins, Tennessee Titans
The veteran is suffering from a calf injury and, although
listed as Questionable, will back up rookie quarterback Rusty Smith, who will
earn his first start in the NFL.
And here are some players who are listed as Out, which means
you have to be prepared to set up your lineups without them:
QB Colt McCoy (CLE), TE Owen Daniels (HOU), WR Brandon
Marshall (MIA), Steve Smith (NYG), Ryan Torain (WAS)
