Probable Pitchers for Saturday, August 1

Josh Beckett (BOS) @ David Hernandez (BAL)

Hernandez pitched well at Boston and Yankee Stadium and that is quite impressive. I think he is too hittable though. At home batters are .295 against him.

Rick Porcello (DET) @ Jeremy Sowers (CLE)

Randy Wolf (LAD) @ Derek Lowe (ATL)

Carlos Zambrano (CHC) @ Burke Badenhop (FLA)

Bruce Chen (KC) @ Jeff Niemann (TB)

A.J. Burnett (NYY) @ John Danks (CWS)

Joe Blanton (PHI) @ Tim Lincecum (SF)

Craig Stammen (WAS) @ Virgil Vasquez (PIT)

Joe Saunders (LAA) @ Anthony Swarzak (MIN)

Ubaldo Jimenez (COL) @ Homer Bailey (CIN)

Considering that the Reds have been batting .162 in their last 5 games and averaged 5 hits per game, Jimenez is worth starting.

Max Scherzer (ARI) @ Oliver Perez (NYM)

Wandy Rodriguez (HOU) @ Chris Carpenter (STL)

Felix Hernandez (SEA) @ Tommy Hunter (TEX)

I checked all the relevant stats and I just cannot find a reason why I shouldn’t start Tommy Hunter. He pitched very well against Detroit and Boston at home and pitched 6 scoreless innings at Seattle.

Brett Cecil (TOR) @ Trevor Cahill (OAK)

TBA (MIL) @ Edward Mujica (SD)
