This is a Top List of the best players per position for the week from 15/03/09 – 22/03/09:

Point Guards:

1) Chris Paul (NO)

He averaged a double-double, 29 points and 10 assists in 3 games last week. He stole the ball 5.3 times and had 5 rebounds. He shot .517 from the field and .960 from the free throw line. That makes him the best fantasy player.

2) Baron Davis (LAC)

He averaged a double-double, too, scoring 19.8 points and 11.3 assists in 4 games. He pulled down 6.5 boards and made 9 3-pointers. A FG% of .474 is outstanding for him and he made 16 of 19 free throws.

3) Rafer Alston (ORL)

He hasn’t let the Magic down since the trade, averaging 15.8 points in 4 games ladt week, 3.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 3 steals and 2.3 3-pointers. 51% of his field goal attempts were on target and so were 83% of his free throws.

4) Jason Terry (DAL)

He barely ever starts yet he logs a decent playing time and subsequently scores: In 4 games he averaged 18 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 3-pointers. He made 12 of 14 free throws.

5) Steve Nash (PHO)

In 3 games he averaged 17.3 points, 7.7 assists and 4 rebounds. He shot 57% from the field and was perfect (4/4) from the free throw line.

Shooting Guards:

1) Jason Richardson (PHO)

His 30.3 points per game were the most in the NBA last week. 5.7 rebounds, 1 block and 4 3-pointers aren’t too bad either. He had a FG% of .673 and FT% of .929.

2) Vince Carter (NJ)

Every now and then he has a game in which he shoots very poorly. Even though he had one of those last week he still averaged .506 from the field. I like his FT% of .947 as well. For the rest: 29.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1 block and 4.3 3-pointers made.

3) J.R. Smith (DEN)

40 points against Washington sure helped his value last week. He averaged 26.7 points in 3 games and had 4 rebounds. He made 54.7% of his field goal attempts and 8 of 9 free throws. 14 3-point attempts were on target as well.

4) Monta Ellis (GS)

He flies a little under the radar due to his injuries but he is very productive when healthy. Last week he averaged 25.8 points in 4 games, 3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals. He made an incredible 62% of his field goal attempts and didn’t miss any of his 14 free throw attempts.

5) Brandon Roy (POR)

He had a very good week, averaging 24.6 points in 5 games, 6.2 rebounds and 6.8 assists. He also made 28 of 32 throws from the charity stripe.

Small Forwards:

1) LeBron James (CLE)

He was not far off a triple-double, scoring 27.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 8.3 assists last week. His improved defense resulted in 3 steals and 1.8 blocks.

2) Gerald Wallace (CHA)

Another good week for the forward with 20.8 points in 4 games, 8.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.5 blocks. 55% of his field goal attempts were on target and so were 90% of his free throws.

3) John Salmons (CHI)

This was a very productive week for the starting forward. He scored 29.3 points in 3 games and made 7 3-pointers. Salmons made 64% of his shots from the field and made all but one of 18 free throws.

4) Trevor Ariza (LAL)

He has been starting these past few games and you might want to think about adding him as a low-end option in a deep league. He scored 18.3 points in 4 games last week, had 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and made 9 3-pointers. He shot 28/44 from the field and went 8 for 10 from the charity stripe.

5) Kelenna Azubuike (GS)

He is not exactly a fantasy power but he certainly helped you if you were lucky enough to have him on your team. He scored 18.5 points in 4 games, 5.8 rebounds and 3 assists. His FG% was .540 and he made 13 of 14 free throws.

Power Forward:

1) Antonio McDyess (DET)

It wasn’t very wise of me to drop him midway through the season, as he has been very productive for an injury depleted Pistons team of late. He averaged a double-double with 16.8 points and 14.5 rebounds in 4 games. He had 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks. He made 51% of his field goals and all of his free throws.

2) Andrea Bargnani (TOR)

I had him early in the season but he was too inconsistent. I wish I have had him last week when he scored 22.3 points in 3 games, 7.3 rebounds and 1 block. He made 7 3-pointers, 59% of his field goal attempts and was 14 of 18 from the line.

3) Jason Thompson (SAC)

He is still available in most leagues but he had 3 double-doubles in his past 4 games. Last week he averaged 14.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, 1 steal, made 57% of his field goal attempts and 11 of 12 free throws.

4) Nene (DEN)

He has been scoring very well of late and averaged 16.3 points in 3 games. He had 6.3 boards and 1.7 blocks. His FG%? .720!!!!! He also made 13 of 16 free throws.

5) Lamar Odom (LAL)

This is exactly why I drafted him: 14 points in 4 games, 10.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.3 blocks, 1 steal.

Centers:

1) Pau Gasol (LAL)

He just averaged a double-double, having scored 23.5 points and 10 rebounds in 4 games. He also had 3 assists, 1.8 blocks and a FG% of .684

2) Yao Ming (HOU)

He only played 2 games last week and averaged a double-double, when scoring 22.5 points and 11.5 rebounds. He also blocked 2 shots per game and made 7 of 8 free throws.

3) Kendrick Perkins (BOS)

These were very good numbers for the center last week: 14.4 points in 5 games, 7.8 rebounds and 3.4 blocks. He had a FG% of .558 and a FT% of .778. His numbers are on the decrease though.

4) Troy Murphy (IND)

The 4 rebounds against the Bobcats prevented him from averaging a double-double but he still had 8.3 rebounds and 14.7 points and 1 block. He made 5 3-pointers and 11 for 12 free throws.

5) Brook Lopez (NJ)

He averaged 15.3 points and 2.3 blocks in 4 games. Furthermore he had 5.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1 steal and made 13 of 16 free throws.
